English Persian Dictionary
An English-Persian Dictionary by Dariush Gilani, Gilani's (Persian, Stanford U.) dictionary differs from others by not being published in Iran for Persian speakers, and therefore emphasizes pronouncing the Persian rather than the English words. He includes words that are of Arabic, Turkish, and other origins as well as those originally part of the language Iranians call Farsi, because his goal is to introduce English speakers to the language and eventually the culture, rather than to purge foreign influences. The dictionary is one-way, only English to Persian, and includes transliteration in Latin letters as well as the Persian spelling.
